Senate Bill 58, the Senate version of House Bill 351, is one presently stirring commotion here in our state. Although in the literal wording of this bill: SB 58: Application of Foreign Law in Certain Cases, does not in any way have Islamic law or Shariah law as the bulls eye; but some have made it to feel that way. how many of us truly understand what “Shariah” means? For this is a hot topic, one being discussed in the mainstream media and beyond. It has become a title’ vilifying people of the Islamic faith, breeding fear in the hearts of non Muslims; threatening them that an inevitable “take over” of this nation is imminent.
